The Wicklow Heather impressed me a lot last saturday night. We were invited here by a friend and were delighted to go along,, when we arrived we were more than impressed! The staff were so friendly and the service was second to none. I had a delicious goats cheese salad starter - it was just perfect. Silence fel around the table when our food arrived as everyting was so delicious. For main courst, I had the spinach and ricotta pasta dish, again, fabulous. As we were celebrating a friends birthday, the stff put a sparkler in a dessert for us and turned down the lights and sang hay birthday. I had a lovely cheese plate with great selection of cheeses, grapes, apples and crackers. The whole evening was a great success, We're DEFINITELY going back! :) Great for Vegetarians too!!!

My girlfriend and I dined in The Wicklow Heather on New Years Eve. We were looking to go somewhere for the evening that we believed would be an excellent experience. Having eaten there on previous occassions over the past 3 years we decided to go back. We were not dissapointed. As on all previous occassions the quality of food, service and value was excellent. The person who trains the staff is to be commended as are the staff. They are a real asset to this business. We stayed in the B&B next door - also owned by the same people and got breakfast the following morning. The whole experience, as with our previous visits was 5 star. Well done

I ate here with a friend while staying in Laragh in the Trooperstown Lodge (owned by the same people). We were ferried to and from the restaurant (a great service). Our breakfasts were also served in this restaurant and were well worth the short trip in the car. For the evening meal we both had delicious pasta dishes served with very tasty garlic bread. Desserts were also excellent, as was the house Merlot. When we asked for the bill we were given liquers on the house - a nice touch. The service was impeccable, friendly and efficient. The restaurant was full and the atmosphere was buzzing. I will definitely be back. A real gem.

Our dining nook... The food at Wicklow Heather is prime Irish cuisine, with the perfect mix of old world charm and modern taste, served up in a charming pub-like atmosphere.

We were given free transport to and from the Riversdale House B&B courtesy of the restaurant, first plus. We were warmly greeted and from then on the service surpassed all our expectations. The menu was varied with something for all tastes. The quality of the food and attention to detail was second to none and I have eaten in many top quality restaurants around the world. The restaurant host made a point of chatting to each table and all staff were attentive and very friendly. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, very clean and stylishy decorated. The top quality food speaks for itself and i would gladly dine there every day.

Thanks to Betty and the staff for really looking after us for our wedding meal. The place and food were lovely and we all enjoyed it. We were in the Writers Room which was very interesting with first editions from a few different Irish writers.
Thanks again,

Ian

4. “What an amazing experience”

On a rainy end-of-summer day in Ireland, myself and my friend (both South Africans) came across this amazing restaurant on our way to Glendalough (in Ireland for a weekend). We had such a blessed time there - with great Apple- and Blueberry Crumble and Baileys Coffee. And the inside of the restaurant was made even more special but warm hospitality and friendly service. If I lived in Ireland, this place would have seen me more often than not!

We visited the Wicklow Heather in April. Everything about the place was top quality. We were very well served with excellent food and it was a wonderful experience. For the quality, the value was very good.
